Olostep × Cursor

Web scraping and search inside the Cursor agent

Use Olostep’s MCP web tools inside Cursor: scrape, search, crawl, and map one URL or thousands, plus batch jobs and cited AI answers, without glue code.

The Olostep Cursor plugin adds web scraping, search, crawling, batch jobs, maps, and cited AI answers to Cursor.

Capabilities

What the plugin exposes in Cursor

Live web data in your editor, same API, MCP tools in chat

The plugin ships the Olostep MCP server and pairs it with Cursor’s agent: scrape pages, search, batch URLs, crawl sites, map links, and request grounded AI answers without leaving the IDE.

  • Install from the Cursor Directory with Add to Cursor, with no manual npx wiring for the default flow.

  • MCP tools match our public API: one mental model from dashboard keys to agent calls.

  • Full browser rendering and infrastructure for JavaScript-heavy sites and difficult targets.

  • Free tier credits on the Olostep dashboard, try real scrapes before scaling.

Setup

Directory install, API key, first run

Install Olostep from the Cursor Directory

Use the official plugin listing so Cursor bundles the MCP server and onboarding. You’ll paste your Olostep API key during install; after that, web tools are available to the agent like any other MCP integration.

  1. Cursor Directory listing page for Olostep

    Open the Cursor Directory listing

Go to the Olostep plugin page on the Cursor Directory. Confirm you’re on the official Olostep listing before you install.

  2. Add to Cursor install button flow

    Click Add to Cursor

Use Add to Cursor to start installation from the listing. Cursor will walk through the plugin flow and prepare the bundled Olostep MCP server for your workspace.

  3. Cursor plugin install prompt with API key

Add your API key and complete install

When prompted, paste your Olostep API key from olostep.com/dashboard and continue through Install. If you see a red warning or alert during this step, it is a generic Cursor notice; unless install explicitly fails, you can continue; your key is used to authenticate the Olostep MCP server.

  4. Cursor agent tool list showing Olostep actions

    Ready to go

Open Cursor chat or the agent, describe what you need (scrape a URL, search the web, map a site, start a crawl, or run a batch), and confirm the Olostep tools appear in the tool list. You’re on the same API as our docs; tune formats and options from tool parameters.

Use cases

What developers run with Olostep in Cursor

What teams build with Olostep + Cursor with Cursor

From debugging with live issues to ingesting docs; patterns that fit agent-first development in the editor.

Debug with live context

Scrape GitHub issues, forums, or changelogs so the agent cites real threads instead of guessing error text.

Docs and API reference

Crawl or map documentation sites, pull Markdown into chat, and keep answers aligned with the current published version.

Migrations and upgrades

Search and scrape breaking-change notes across vendors, then let the agent plan refactors against fresh content.

Structured extraction

Scrape pages to JSON or typed fields for fixtures, tests, and codegen, without maintaining one-off scrapers per site.
