Dear web wanderer,
Welcome to Olostep. We're building the infrastructure AI agents need to do real work — search, scrape, crawl, research and deliver structured data from the live internet.
The web is the backbone of every business and the home of humanity's collective knowledge. Humans browsed it manually for decades. Now Agents are knocking on the door. And they need infrastructure built for them: engineered for machine speed and designed to be customizable, programmable, flexible, and extensible.
In late 2025, we saw a shift that largely went unnoticed. With improvements in frontier AI models, especially coding models, we entered an era where software stops purely following instructions and starts thinking. We shifted from an instruction-based software world to an intent-based one. The agentic era. This requires a reinvention of several pieces of infrastructure to make them agent-ready: from email to web search to payments railways. We are focusing on web data and agentic search
The web was built for people. Its next trillion users will be machines, acting on our behalf. The economy they transact in will run into the trillions — but it can't come to fruition without infrastructure built for how agents actually use the web. That's the opportunity in front of us, and it's an enormous one.

Hamza is co-founder and CEO of Olostep, a title that means he's mainly in meetings. He previously co-founded Zecento, one of Italy's most popular AI e-commerce productivity tools — proof that he's been convincing people to let machines do their work for a while now.
Arslan is co-founder of Olostep and responsible for it all — which means everything is his fault at 2am. Before Olostep he engineered at Sameday (YC W23) and several other YC startups (Legora, Zenfetch), collecting three-letter batch codes like trading cards. Also a CS student at Stanford, allegedly.
Samyak is a senior software engineer who has, apparently, been here longer than some of the co-founders. He's responsible for infrastructure and customer-facing issues, which means he's the one both robots and humans complain to. Currently nursing a bug he can't seem to patch: the urge to go start his own company.
Fred is a senior software engineer, load-bearing wall of the infrastructure, and reigning meme-lord. He can hold forth for hours on approximately any topic, invited or not (usually not). Time is divided into two eras: pre-Fred and post-Fred.
Mattia is an AI/ML engineer and certified all-rounder, equally at home dealing with customers, setting up analytics, and untangling security compliance. Comes with a typical Italian accent at no extra charge. He originally interviewed for another company but was promptly deemed too good to leave there.
Moeez is a product engineer working on matters of the utmost importance that cannot be revealed (or so he says when asked about progress). Any point he agrees with in a meeting is met instantly with enthusiastic reactions and a full deployment of emojis.
Anshika, design engineer (more design than engineer, as our website uptime graphs show). But when the site is up it's the best-looking and best-functioning it's ever been.
